Students can discover more about the history of Columbus, GA on an exciting Scavenger Hunt! Explore the city and complete the Scavenger Hunt at your own pace. Solve the clues together or if you get stuck, you can view the answers page.  Download the map of Uptown.

• Pick a question to begin your adventure.

• Take pictures of your answers and include yourself in the images.

• Share on social media & tag your photos with @historiccolumbus.

UPTOWN SCAVENGER HUNT

  1. If you have no plans on Saturday, come on in to see a matinee.
     

  2. People once stayed overnight, now you can eat, or buy art, if you’re feeling right.
     

  3. Before stopping in to grab a cup of Joe, this is the place people took their dough!
     

  4. This company began when a mill worker’s dress became tangled in factory machinery, and money she had sewn into her hem spilled onto the floor.
     

  5. People used to stand outside this building yelling “Extra! Extra! Read all about it!”
     

  6. Rising from the ashes, this building was once a well-known mill and is near the white water crashes.
     

  7. Sit down and grab a sub where prescriptions and sodas were first sold.
     

  8. Something spicy and something sweet, cola and curry can beat the heat!
     

  9. Come have a meeting where everything from grills to cannons were built.
     

  10. Stay the night where a cotton gin once stood and a mill that grinded grains into flour.
