Historic Columbus has had a wonderful year celebrating its 50th Anniversary! We are very grateful for all who have attended our events and contributed to the capital campaign. In January, we will announce three new programs as a result of the campaign’s success.
On-going education programs, preservation grants, maintenance of the Rankin House and Walker-Peters-Langdon House, and membership events are all supported by the Annual Fund. We hope you will consider making a year-end gift to help Historic Columbus invest more resources in our community.
Revitalize – We are helping families in older homes by being able to provide loans to paint a house, install a new roof, repair windows, or stabilize a foundation. Soon, larger loans will be available.
Educate – The Patricia Jackson Howard scholarship, in memory of Executive Director Patti Howard, has been awarded annually over the past 23 years to graduating seniors in Muscogee County. In total, $29,500 has been given to students in Patti’s name.
Advocate – Historic Columbus is an advocate for sharing our history. There were over 1,000 in attendance for this year’s lunch and lecture series. We are planning now for next year, so please join us again.
Preserve – There are so many larger buildings in need of help, such as our historic churches, community buildings, theaters, and schools. The new Public Participation Grant will encourage applicants to promote their projects and create enthusiasm in the public about preservation efforts.
Historic Columbus is excited about its next chapter and there is so much more to do! Thank you for your continued support of Historic Columbus. We are truly indebted to you.
